Women’s No 1 & No 2 Motocross Riders
Ready for Bathurst

The opening round of the Stadium Motocross Series this Saturday January 30th will feature Australia’s two fastest women motocross riders.

2009 Australia Motocross Champion Tori Dare will hit the track this Saturday and she feels confident she will come away with the win, “I’m feeling confident about the Stadium Motocross this weekend, and I hope to do my best in each moto.”

“I love stadium motocross, especially the doubles and technical jumps. It’s great when you get to ride in front of a large crowd.”

“I hope to be racing overseas this year and I would like to thank my sponsors, Bike Biz, Ficeda, AXO, Rampant Clothing and Shark Helmets for their support, I would also like to give a thank you to Nick Sullivan,” expressed Tori.

Australia’s No 2 women’s rider Kristy Gillespie will also be in attendance and racing is expected to be very intensive amongst this group of women who have offered up some awesome racing in the past.

For years DBP Stadium Motocross Events have been a stepping stone for some of this country’s most successful riders, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

Spectators will bear witness to the future stars in each highly-competitive class ranging from 50cc Nippers right through to the Pro Lites and Opens classes.

Organiser Phil Sargent of Dirt Bike Promotions, says Bathurst and the Central West is loaded with talented motocross riders, “We really want to try and get a huge local contingency to take on the rest of the riders from across the state.

“Due to the tough economy we are offering one FREE child admission to every paying adult. I have a family of my own and I know how expensive it is to take the whole family on an outing, so I hope this will just help a little and give families the chance to have a great day and evening enjoying the spectacular of Stadium Motocross.

“The best part about our events is that the kids get a chance to race in front of a large crowd at a Supercross style event and it says a lot about the calibre of the racing and the talent of the competitors, when the crowd cheer just as hard for the junior riders as they do for the Pro’s.

“Stadium Motocross is a similar layout to Supercross racing with a man made track with loads of Supercross style jumps formed from more than 12,000 tonnes of dirt inside the arena at Bathurst Showgrounds it lends for super close racing.

“We’re really looking forward to the first round of the series, riders on new bikes and all very eager to hit the track, which is a twilight event being run during the day and into the early evening.

Sargent said entries are now available and entries will be capped at 24 for each class so don’t miss out.

Round Two will be held in Orange Showground (NSW) on 20th February and Round Three will return to Maitland Showgrounds (NSW) on 13th March.

The series boasts classes for any rider with a National Motorcycling Australia license from nippers to juniors and clubman, women’s and pro lites and opens.
