Hunter Valley riders to hit top gear |

Several Hunter Valley riders leading their classes in the series will hit top gear at the final round of Dirt Bike Promotions (DBP) Stadium Motocross Series on Saturday March 13th at the Maitland Showgrounds. The Hunter Valley has a plethora of talented motocross riders and Nathan Brochtrup, Egan Mastin and Dylan Heaton who are leading their respective classes will be tough to beat in front of a vocal home crowd. Dirt Bike Promotions (DBP) organiser Phil Sargent of Kurri Kurri has designed another challenging technical track for the final round of the series, “the Orange SMX track was a big hit with the riders and fans, and while it proved a challenging track for some, riders just loved it’s Supercross style. “There is a great buzz about the series at the moment, and it’s great to have alot of that positive feedback coming in,” said Sargent. Vacy’s Egan Mastin (Maca Coaching, KTM Australia & Axis Motorsports) is definitely one of the young guns of motocross and with a 20 point lead in the 9 – 12 years 85cc class is a future champion in the making. Dylan Heaton (SS Racing) of Medowie is another young talented motocross rider who has a five point lead in the competitive 12 13 year 85cc class and with team mate Aaron Tanti hot on his trail will have his work cut out for him to maintain the lead. Nathan Brochtrup (Ficeda & Bike and Bits) of Muswellbrook has a convincing lead in the Pro All Powers class with a 23 point lead, and is chasing the leader of the Pro Lites Class John Prutti who has a four point lead. DBP organiser Phil Sargent says he enjoys promoting the Maitland round as it is close to home and is happy to offer families a cheaper option to attend the event. “Due to the tough economy we are offering one FREE child admission to every paying adult. I have a family of my own and I know how expensive it is to take the whole family on an outing, so I hope this will just help a little and give families the chance to have a great day and evening enjoying the spectacular of Stadium Motocross. “The best part about our events is that the kids get a chance to race in front of a large crowd at a Supercross style event and it says a lot about the calibre of the racing and the talent of the competitors, when the crowd cheer just as hard for the junior riders as they do for the Pro’,” expressed Sargent. Gates at the Maitland Showgrounds will open at 9am Saturday. Admission costs: Adults - $15.00, 1 Child - Free (with a paying adult), Child - $5.00 (5yrs – 14yrs if not with a paying adult) and Under 5yrs FREE To enter or for more information visit www.dirtbikepromotions.com.au or contact DBP on 0438721024 or email: treena@dirtbikepromotions.com.au.
