Smith Brothers to headline Orange SMX

Dirt Bike Promotions (DBP) prepares for the second round of the Stadium Motocross Series (SMXS) at Orange this Saturday, and seasoned rider Nathan Brochtrup sets to go head to head with Todd and Jacob Smith in the Apple City.

The opening round of the SMXS in Bathurst last month was a huge event with over 300 riders competing and one of the largest crowds the series has seen in many years.

Pro Open winner Brochtrup (2009 MX Cross Cup Pro Open Winner) once again showed his forte for stadium motocross taking out the overall win at Bathurst and will be hoping to repeat his success at Orange.

Safari Desert riders Todd and Jacob Smith from Condoblin (NSW), are huge names in the Central West.

“The Smith brothers have family and friends in Orange so I would anticipate that they have the advantage over Brochtrup, but all three are awesome riders.

“Todd and Jacob Smith don’t like to follow, they are definitely more comfortable out in front, so in front of a home crowd, I would expect to see some heated and close racing between them and the front runners in the Pro Open races,”

The Pro Lites class will be interesting with Lawson Bopping (round one winner) out for Orange, John Prutti and Cameron Solomon are expected to be on the charge to consolidate the points on offer.

The clubman and junior classes are all jammed pack with some of this country’s most talented motocross riders and often these classes get more cheering and support from the crowd than the pro classes do.

“We are really excited going into the second round with the success of round one, we have changed a few things in how we promote through the media and advertise the series this year. I think we are on track for another successful event thanks to our supportive sponsors and riders.

Series sponsor Link Int. have been a major sponsor over the past ten years and are avid to see the series continue its growth well into the future. The SMXS attracts a wide range of rider ages and abilities and has become an important stepping stone for many riders over the years.

Link Int. Marketing Co-Ordinator, Mark Kelly looks forward to another successful partnership with the SMXS, “Link International is proud to be associated once again with the Stadium Motocross Series and continue our long standing philosophy of supporting grass roots racing.”

“Pirelli sees the 2010 Stadium Motocross Series as the premier grass roots championship in the off road scene. We look forward to seeing this years’ riders racing on our world championship winning Scorpion MX tyres”.
